LIFE TABERNACLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We are a church that believes in revival!  The Lord instructed us to be a witness to the world and to keep his word. We believe what  Jesus said " pray that the Lord of the harvest will send labors into the fields." The Lord Jesus commanded us to go into all the world and to teach repentance, baptism in Jesus' name for the remission of sins, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.  This is what the world needs so desperately,  it is the key to their Eternal Life !

We need to never forget the mission!

The Holy Scriptures

The 66 books of the Bible are the written revelation of God’s character and will and all things that are essential to the knowledge of salvation.

There is to be no addition or subtraction to Holy Writ. It is the all-sufficient, inerrant, infallible, and inexhaustible standard of faith and life.

All God’s people are commanded in the fear of God to read and search it out by the inward witness and illumination of the Holy Spirit.

God breathed its authority; therefore, it does not depend upon the testimony of man or the church.

All interpretations, creeds, and religious controversies are to be settled by its self-authenticating authority by deciphering and comparing verses with other clear verses of scripture.

The One True God

There is but one living and true God who is self-existent, infinite in being and perfection, transcending knowledge.

He is pure spirit, incorporeal, immortal, dwelling in unapproachable light. He does all things according to his will and glory. He is absolutely holy, wise, and righteous, and hates sin. He exercises his justice upon guilt and is perfect in his execution of judgment. He is most loving, gracious, and compassionate.

He forgives transgression and sin in perfect mercy, abounding in goodness and truth. He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. He is the creator and fountainhead of the origin, development, and end of all things.

The Lord Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, God’s only begotten Son and Messiah. He is the complete revelation of Jehovah of the Old Covenant.

He was born of the virgin, Mary, and led a sinless life, replete with holiness and untouched by sin. He possessed two natures; human and divine, and he acts as mediator according to these natures.

His threefold offices of prophet, priest, and king of the church are unequivocally necessary for us. Because of our ignorance we need his prophetical office. Because of our imperfections we need the priestly office to reconcile us to God. We need his kingly office because we need to be rescued and secured from our spiritual adversaries.

Repentance

Jesus taught that Repentance was more than saying " I'm Sorry." It is a life long commitment to doing the will of Jesus Christ while at the same time having a Godly sorrow for past sins.

Obedience to the Word of God is always coupled with True Repentance.

Repentance is a desire to do what pleases God, and not self.

Baptism and Immersion in Water in Conversion

Baptism is an ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ. It is a response to the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord.

It is intended for those who have repented, have faith in God, and a willingness to obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through faith in the name of Jesus and his blood.

Baptism acts as the visible sign of the remission of sins. Baptism is immersion, the dipping of the believer in water, which is essential to the proper administration of this ordinance.

The believer is always baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

Immersion in water has no virtue in itself to remit sins, but obedience to God's command and belief in His Word through Faith brings this about.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is the promise of the Father, the promise of God to Abraham to those who seek God in complete surrender to His will and are obedient to the gospel message.

It is not optional or as some believe a second blessing, but is given to those for whom it has been prepared and those who are constantly filled with the Spirit of Christ.

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is initially evidenced by speaking in an unknown language, earthly or heavenly.

Sanctification

Without holiness no man shall see the Lord.

Those who are united to Christ have a new heart and spirit. God’s law and Spirit dwell within them and  sin's rule and desires are broken from their lives. They earnestly endeavor to live according to heaven’s laws and render obedience to all the commands of Christ he has laid down for them in his Word, as their head and King.

At times sin may gain the upper hand, yet the continual supply of strength from the sanctifying Spirit of Christ enables man as a new creature to gain the victory.

The Church

The Church is the wife, the body, and the fullness of Christ who fills all in all. They are saints of God who willingly consent to fellowship together in local assemblies, attending worship services ,and hold to the truth of scripture and living holy lives.

Christ is the head and it is impossible for any man to be the sovereign head of the church. Even the purest churches are liable to be troubled by mixture and error, and the Lord has given Biblical mandates on the discipline of the church.
